Size limit for document

Question

Hi, I'm wondering if there is some size limit for a document stored in collection? I need to know this to plan the design of collections.

Hello Viadislav,

Yes, there is a limit on size of JSON object for inserting it in Storage service and is set to 20 kb however in ideal scenario it should not exceed to 2-3 kb. Please have a look at this blog post, it has the best practices of data modeling in Storage Service.

Hi, I just wanted to ask whether you have increased the maximum allowed size of a document? I have successfully tested writing documents with a size of 40 to 50 kb.

Hello Vlad,

It will work for 40 to 50 kb, but as a part of best practices. We always recommend not to create a heavy size of JSON because it will take time to flush all the data on client side. I will recommend you to reduce the size of JSON to make your app more responsive.
